I chose the dreariest, cold and rainy day EVER to return to Manhattan for good, but none-the-less I’M BACK BABY.
and hey rain means I get to wear my awesome rainboots
senior year of high school my mama made fun of me for wanting to buy rain boots and said they were the biggest waste of money. Jokes on her, it’s been an amazing 4+ years jumping in puddles with these beauties.
I returned to the city late last night to a depressingly empty fridge
side note: those beers aren’t even mine! I don’t even drink beer! But they are expired and have been in my fridge since junior year cuz I don’t have a beer bottle opener…..
I decided to make a late night grocery run to get the essentials (aka peanut butter, pasta and pancake ingredients) I’m happy to say my fridge now has more than beer and bean dip…
Although I feel significantly more confident in the kitchen than I did when I last lived alone in my apartment at the end of senior year, I have a feeling I’m gonna be relying on takeout for the next few days while I’m settling back into my apartment and adjusting to my new job. Yes my new job as a personal trainer!
Today was my first day of adulthood AKA my first day at a job that I get paid minimum wage! Yes friends, I’m thrilled to be making at least minimum wage cuz lets be honest, my day camp salary doesn’t support my lululemon addiction 🙂
It’s all incredibly overwhelming and thrilling at the same time. For now it’s just basic new staff orientation and information session… but I still freaked out a lil when I got my employee name tag.
Between working and studying I’m feeling like I’m in finals week of college. Even sitting at my desk today studying NASM I had major de ja vu of studying for college finals
granola + dark chocolate chips = the perfect study snack.
These next two weeks are going to be a bit cray cray between studying, working and trying to cleanup my hella dusty and disorganized apartment… but if I learned anything while being a theater major in college it’s how to survive on minimal sleep and time manage 🙂
time to treat my self with “the new normal” on the DVR
what’s your favorite study snack?
what was your first “real” job”
(all my previous jobs have involved kids– babysitting, sleep away camp counselor, dance counselor at day camp, and sunday school teacher…. which is ironic because I’m not a huge fan of kids)
