Hiiii! It’s been a minute!
There are a lot of good and exciting things in the works but WHEW it’s tiring! I’m happy to finally have some time to sit down and share some recent favorites. Today we’ve got lots of cute fashion picks that are perfect for the summer heat (it’s BRUTAL in NYC today!) and some restaurants I’ve been loving in NYC.
I’ve officially become a fan of the famous Nap Dress
I’ve been seeing the Hill House Home nap dress ALL over Instagram for the past year. I finally gave in and ordered one for myself. At first, I was a bit on the fence as it’s longer than I thought it would be (I’m 5’2″ for reference.)
But then I fell in love with it and officially became obsessed. It’s lightweight making it perfect for summer in NYC. It feels just a touch elevated from my usual summer dresses which makes me feel put together without having to make an effort or sacrifice comfort. And the ultimate win? I don’t need to wear a bra with it. Call me basic, but I’m a Nap Dress convert.
I’m wearing the Ellie Nap Dress in Mermaid. I recommend sizing down as it runs a bit large.
this fabulous green dress
A few weeks ago I wore this dress for a dinner out as part of a Bachelorette weekend. The green floral pattern is gorgeous and I love that it can be dressed up a bit or dressed down, depending on accessories.
vegan eats from Orchard Street Grocery
I’ve been wanting to check out the vegan grocery store and deli Orchard Street Grocery. I finally went with a friend and wow and everything was SO good. I got the Bowery sandwich and some ice cream.
We also shopped around the grocery store for a bit and found SO many interesting vegan products that were new to me. It is worth a visit for sure!
a new vegan spot: NuLeaf
NuLeaf is a new plant-based restaurant in Flatiron from the previous owners of Terri. They’ve only been open a week or two and I think I’ve been 4 times already since it’s right next to the yoga studio I teach at.
I’ve only tried the Chorizo Fiesta bowl so far and I absolutely love it.
A Weekend in Bellport, NY
My best friend was here from LA for a few days. We spent the weekend at his family’s place in the town of Bellport which is in Long Island with another friend of ours. I’ve been a few times, but I feel like this was the first time we really spent a lot of time in town exploring.
I cannot get over how CUTE Bellport is. The town is chock full of adorable boutiques and small businesses. If you’re in the Long Island area or looking for a mini escape from NYC, it’s a lovely place to visit.
I absolutely loved the boutique Tola. We got great overnight oats for breakfast every day from It’s Only Natural. I also couldn’t resist buying some books at The Storefront.
Besides exploring Bellport, it was just an amazing weekend with friends. There were a lot of belly laughs throughout the weekend and I’m so grateful for that time away with people I love.
Future Favorites:
I’ve been eying a few things from Farm Rio and was excited to see they have a number of items on sale:
- I didn’t know I needed a banana print jumpsuit. But apparently, I do!
- if this green dress fits I think it will be perfect for the rehearsal dinner at my brother’s wedding.
- the pattern on this puffy sleeved dress is GORGEOUS.
