What Are the Yamas of Yoga?

In yoga philosophy there are these things called the yamas or social restraints.  Think of them as the moral code of yoga and 5 guiding rules to live by both in your yoga practice but also in real life

Yama #1 AHIMSA:  Non Violence

Be kind to others but also to yourself.

Yama #2 SATYA: Inner Truth

Don't be afraid to speak and stand in your truth. Listen to what it is that YOU need, not those around you.

Yama #3  Asteya Non stealing

You already have what you need. You have enough and are enough.

Yama #4 Brahmacharya:  Sensual moderation.

Step away from the temptation of things that steal your energy like social media or becoming reliant on other stimulants.

Yama #5 Aparigraha Non Possessiveness

Taking only what you need and let go of the things you don't be it material goods or unhelpful thoughts.
